Frawn in Fremont, Coming Home
June 10, 2012 §
When I think of the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle, Washington I think back on my childhood memories of roller skating down to the canal, climbing to the top of the monkey bars in our back yard to wave at the trains, and making mud pies in the backyard. It’s a totally different neighborhood since then, our house was torn down and replaced with a commercial building along with many of the other dumpy old houses. Luckily, many have been refurbished and the neighborhood has retained its creative roots. One of the great neighborhood events of the past that has continued over the years is the Summer Solstice celebration known as the Fremont Festival.
The festival takes place June 16th and 17th and promises to be a fantastic event for all ages. The weekend event will have a huge array of vendors, delicious food carts, live shows, a beer garden, plenty of art and games for kids, a pet parade, and the always lively solstice parade. You can check out the complete event line up by going to this website:
Our booth at the corner of 34th Street and Phinney Ave. so please stop by and check us out. We will have a wide array of Seattle specific items along with a broad range of painted pieces.
